MEET MICHAEL

As a traveler I’d used Airbnb to find lodging for many years. When I was looking for ways to earn a couple of extra bucks to help pay the mortgage, I thought it made sense to try hosting travelers myself. I live in Sacramento and had never really thought of it as a sought after destination; so when my house was booked 6 times within the first few days of putting it on the Airbnb platform, I was shocked. I realized then that there was demand in the area and that I could make much more than just a few dollars to help with my mortgage. I could start a business. With a little bit of focused attention, strategic planning, creativity and research, my Airbnb business was born.

Now, after 4 years of hosting over 3,000 guests, becoming a super host, Airbnb Ambassador, and building a portfolio of 13 rentals, I have learned a lot about short term renting.
